Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government issued the decision on the 2024 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Awards. Upon nomination by Yangzhou Science and Technology Bureau, Yangzhou Tengfei Cable & Electrical Material Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tengfei Company) was awarded the Third Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award as the primary completion entity for one of its innovative research achievements.

Tengfei has long focused on technological research and industrialization of auxiliary materials for special cables. The awarded project addresses core bottlenecks concerning durability, safety and environmental friendliness of cables under harsh working conditions. Its products can replace imported counterparts on a large scale and reach internationally advanced technical standards, being widely adopted in new energy, rail transit, nuclear power and other sectors to underpin the independent and controllable development of relevant industrial chains.

As the top provincial honor in science and technology sector of Jiangsu, the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award features rigorous evaluation criteria and fierce competition after multiple rounds of stringent reviews, serving as a key benchmark for enterprises’ R&D strength. In 2024, only 52 Natural Science Awards, 243 General Science and Technology Progress Awards, 10 Outstanding Young Scientist Awards and 4 International Science and Technology Cooperation Awards were granted across the province, with merely 30% of all participating entries winning awards, highlighting the high gold content and industry recognition of the honor.(Reported by Zou Hongfei)
