Recently, the first China Cable Industry G100 Entrepreneur Summit and the 2025 China Cable Industry High-Quality Development Conference grandly opened in Guangzhou. As an authoritative event in the industry, the summit, themed “A Hundred Enterprises Unite for a Long-Term Strategy, Quality Leads the Way to the Future,” attracted government departments, industry associations, research institutions, and outstanding domestic and international enterprises. At the conference, Mr. Zhang Yun, Chairman of Yangzhou Tengfei Cable and Electrical Material Co., Ltd., was awarded the title of “2025 Outstanding Entrepreneur of China’s Cable Industry” for his remarkable contributions and innovative leadership.

Chairman Zhang Yun has always adhered to the philosophy of “technological innovation drives enterprise development.” Under his leadership, the company has established industry-university-research collaborations with institutions such as the Shanghai Cable Research Institute, Donghua University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Harbin University of Science and Technology, and Fuzhou University. Together, they have successfully overcome technical challenges in developing high-performance flame-retardant, high-insulation, and high-water-blocking specialty wrapping materials used in high-end equipment sectors such as nuclear power, high-speed rail, and marine engineering. These efforts have resolved several common technical problems in China’s cable auxiliary materials industry, achieving independent control over key core technologies. The company has obtained over 60 patents and filled multiple domestic technological gaps. Projects such as “Anti-Oxidant Long-Life Flame-Retardant and Fire-Resistant Materials for Nuclear and High-Speed Rail Cables” and “High-Performance Nano Semi-Conductive Buffer Water-Blocking Materials” have been included in national and provincial science and technology plans. Currently, the company’s products are widely used in major national projects including nuclear power, high-speed rail, and marine engineering, ranking top in the industry in terms of technology R&D, product categories, and market scale.

The title of “Outstanding Entrepreneur” is not only an honor but also a responsibility. After the conference, Chairman Zhang Yun stated that in the future, he will continue to focus on “technological innovation, talent-driven development, and green growth,” increasing investment in R&D, talent acquisition, and the construction of a national green factory, to help China’s cable industry move up the global value chain. He also emphasized the importance of actively responding to the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting the export of products and technologies, and contributing the wisdom and strength of private enterprises to the high-quality development of the industry.
